Special Effect Design | Ride the Cyclone | The Amazing Karnak: Mechanical Fortune Teller

a sentient fortune machine who narrates the musical Ride the Cyclone described as "an imposing mechanical man with a large beard and glowing eyes." The mask, gloves, and booth were designed and constructed by Wes. The costume pieces were designed by Joyce Leahy, and altered by Wes to fit the "Machine" components.

Makeup Technique | The McAloney Eschar

A special effect technique designed to mimic the uncommonly seen onstage, but commonly treated in reality eschar burn. Common with severe localized burns, eschars are essentially walled-off portions of necrotic flesh. The textured pitting and surface desiccation of such wounds makes this technique useful for highly visible wound makeup, and can even be combined with other techniques for unique takes on traditional zombie or monster makeup.

Prop Design | Lightsabers

a series of custom-built props styled after the Lightsabers of the Star Wars franchise. Each piece is made of solid components such as wood and pluming hardware. While they do not have blades or electronic components, each is sturdy enough to serve as a permanent accessory to any cosplay or film costume.

Makeup Design | Arsenic and Old Lace | Jonathan Brewster

a set of prosthetics designed to evoke an homage to the origins of the character, namely Boris Karloff and his most famous roles. Meant for an audience with less knowledge of the actor, the design includes a broad prosthetic nose, and a prominent scar on the forehead modeled after Karloff's Frankenstein monster.

Costume Design | Elven Cloak

A hooded floor-length cloak with double Inverness-style capelets. Designed for fantasy reenactment, but usable for a wide variety of roles or cosplays.

Community Outreach Project | Blessings Box for Trinity Lutheran Church

A growing trend for city centers and churches is the community pantry. The version built by Weston for Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in downtown Columbus Ohio is weatherproofed, and large enough to store consumables such as canned goods, bottled water, and hygiene products along with commonly needed items such as hats, socks, and shoes. Exterior designs were a community effort after being assembled by Wes.

Costume Design | Jedi Robes

Designed for multiple character designs, this ensemble is based off of the classic interpretation of Jedi Knight robes from the Star Wars franchise. The outer robe, with it's short mantle, doubles as a traditional monk's robe, and was used as such in Actor's Theatre of Columbus's 2019 production Romeo and Juliet

Costume Design | Formal Doublet

A pleated doublet in a gold paisley fabric with added filigree. Designed as a formal piece for reenactments and themed weddings.

Costume Design | Green Jerkin and Doublet

A costume design based on medieval fantasy reenactments. The faux leather doublet is lighter and has more give than regular leather for ease of movement. The green gambeson has two pockets; one on the left sleeve and one on the right thigh, for storing either IDs and cards at a fair, or a mic pack for a show.

Prop Design | Pillory

A prop designed for illusion shows, or any play set in a time period where public punishment was common. This pillory is solid and locks both hands and head in place, but can be easily escaped from via a special gimmick in the locking mechanism totally hidden from the audience.

Costume Designs | Reenactment Garb

Multiple doublets and reenactment garb outfits made for personal and period projects

Prop Design | Miniatures

Several miniature prop designs meant for display and set dressing. The shields bear custom coats of arms designed by Wes using the laws of Tincture (arms description) for historical accuracy
